Dear PAMS members:
Attached is a summary of five medical missions conducted by a medical team of the PAMS Polyclinic to small communities in the sierra of Chincha during the months of November and December 2021. We focused on Chavin, Topara and 11 other smaller communities. These medical missions were conducted under the leadership of the Medical Director of the PAMS Polyclinic, Dr. Solania Tello Del Mar, in partnership with a local Mining Company, Nexa Resources, The attached summary was prepared by Dr. Tello.
Although we have not been able to organize medical missions coming from the US due to the pandemic, we are pleased to report not only that the PAMS Polyclinic is alive and well in the province of Chincha, but that it is reaching out to people in need of medical care in smaller communities. Dr. Solania Tello has made a difference not only in keeping the Polyclinic operationally stable but she has expanded and develop fruitful relationships with local industries to obtain resources to cover the gap of caring for the needy.
As we close 2021, we thank you for the opportunity to serve the people of Chincha and for the blessing of having capable and committed leadership working at your Polyclinic. From all of us, please receive our best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
