PAMS President Juan Carlos Alejos Honored in University of Michigan Medical School's 175th Anniversary Alumni Magazine
PAMS is proud to share that our President, Dr. Juan Carlos Alejos, was featured in the University of Michigan alumni magazine's special edition celebrating the 175th anniversary of its Medical School.
A two-time Michigan graduate (B.S. 1982, M.D. 1987), Dr. Alejos is a leader in pediatric cardiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA Health. In 2005, he founded Hearts With Hope, a nonprofit that brings cardiovascular care to children in underserved countries.
The feature highlights Dr. Alejos's recent gift to the U-M Clinical Simulation Center, the latest chapter in his long record of generosity. Reflecting on why hands-on training matters, he said: "I think the best doctors I know are the ones who do not necessarily have the best test scores, but are ... more experienced with doing procedures and examining patients... all the things that the Sim Center allows you to do."
